"We chose Don Davis for the judge of
the show because of his ability to appreciate both contemporary and traditional
approaches to working with clay. Also, because of the body of work that he has
produced is outstanding."

Notes from the Teapot Show Judge
I feel that I chose four of the most compelling pieces in the exhibit. It wasn't
easy; there are scores of deserving teapots here. From my initial 37 choices,
I narrowed it down to 14, then 8, and then 4. What was familiar had to be disregarded,
as did what was novel, eye-catching, traditional, or contemporary. Strength of
purpose, integrity, craftsmanship, design, and concept, were all considered. -
