"Beadwork owes its popularity to its ability to be serpentine and rigid, translucent and opaque. It answers design problems immediately because it is basically sewing/weaving with beads applied." - We found this to be quite an understatement. The course leader, Joyce Scott (bending forward in the multicolored gown) combines both performance art along with her creations. One evening she wailed out a blues style history of her family, her mother's ( to the left of Joyce ) wonderful quit work and her evolution into the her beadwork of today. To say that she held the audience spellbound would be a gross understatement
