Penland
Pottery

Pottery is one of our great loves and we both we sad that we could not spend more time in this area. One of the courses offered was led by Don Reitz of Arizona. He created quite a stir in his students when he announced that they must have several pieces done and ready for firing in 2 days. All of the work was fired wet .. this added to the suspense .. but not one pot exploaded !!

As with the other pages we've created, we were not able to get all of the names of the creators of these works. If you know who they were, please drop us an email and we will be glad to list them. Also, if you have any pictures from this session that you would like have added to these pages, we'll be glad to do so.

It seems that even when empty, kilns have an attraction !
