Delbeck Brut Heritage NV
Price $38
Rating 91
The sip is crisp, classic Champagne. The flavors are sophisticated and subtle. Pair this sparkling wine throughout the meal with all manner of food.

This Champagne house was established in 1832 by Félix-Désiré Delbeck in Reims. A Flemish banker who invested heavily in vineyards, Delbeck was also the husband of Balsamie Ponsardin, niece of the renowned Veuve Clicquot.
Champagne Delbeck quickly became a favorite of the King and his Court, and in 1838 it was named the official Champagne of the French monarchy. As a result, Delbeck is the only Champagne allowed to carry the royal emblem & the motto "Fournisseurs de l'Ancienne Cour de France." The Champagne became very well-known circa 1870-1912, and was the 3rd largest Champagne imported by the United States and Canada in 1884. Visit Delbeck at www.delbeck.com

Warwick Estate is on the premium red wine slopes of Simonsberg, near Stellenbosch. Named ‘Warwick’ by Colonel Gordon after his Warwickshire regiment in the Anglo-Boer War, this Estate is situated in Stellenbosch in the heart of the fertile Muldersvlei bowl, and has been prime farmland since the 18th century. The latest chapter of this land began just over 35 years ago, when Stan Ratcliffe bought the Estate and following an instinct, planted the land with Cabernet Sauvignon vines. The woman Stan married some years later turned out to have an unerring instinct for wine her self. It is no coincidence that Norma Ratcliffe, now producing some of the most sought-after wines in the country, is also known as “The Lady of Warwick.”Learn more at www.broadbent-wines.com.
