Our first experience with Cheese-Online.com ( the US site for Fromages.com
) was this past New Years when we decided to order cheese for our Millenium Dinner
number two ( 2001 ). I found the Fromages.com site based on a reccomendation from
another wine lover. However, when I got to that site and clicked on their "English"
version I was taken to Cheese-Online.com. I was worried that what was really happening
was that they were shipping bulk cheeses to the U.S. and then this site would
be cutting and sending them out. Well I was in for a great surprise !!

We placed an order for one of their chees trays, along with a separate order
for some Roquefort and waited to see what would happen. Our first impression came
when their customer service took the time to tell me the day on which it was shipping
and the day that I could expect it so that I could insure that someone was at
home. When the package arrived, we found, much to our amazement, it bore the custom
stamps for France. They had indeed shipped the product next day air directly
from France !! ... and .. the cheeses were the hit of the evening !!
The cheeses were pefectly wrapped, and shipped along with
wonderful documentation on them
Now both Betsy and I were hooked !!
We then found out that they offered a Cheese Course for those of us that were
unfamiliar with the breadth of the cheeses of France. This 4-month long course
consisted not only of the cheeses .. but also suggestions for wines to match with
the cheeses. The following is our diary of this course ... we hope that you enjoy
reading it.
Note: Strat's Place has been approved to be an affiliate of Cheese-Online.com
