Bald Cypress

Fragrance: None
Light: Full Sun
Soil: our standard mix
Planting/Care: Plant and leave
Propagation: dunno
Blooms: none
Notes: This really neat tree scared the heck out of us the first year that it was in our garden. In the fall/winter all of the needles turned "dead brown" ... we were sure that the tree had died. Luckily, Art was too lazy to take it down that fall and much to our delight and surprise, the next spring it flushed out in it's wonderful soft greenery. Chuckle .. so "that's the reason" they call it a Bald Cypress !!

6/15/00 The tree shown was about 7' tall when we purchased it three years ago. It is now about 12' tall. The soft, subtle shades of the green needles agains the rough, reddish bark is a wonderful, cooling sight.
