Flying Dragon Mockorange
Poncirusa irifolata

Fragrance: None
Light: Sun
Soil: our standard mix
Planting/Care: only trimming for shape
Propagation: dunno
Notes: For us this is a "must have" plant .. it offers wonderful visual appeal year round.

March 29, 1999 During the winter this wonderful plant looks like something from a foreign planet. It's bare, emerald green "branches" with 1-2" long thorney spickes, always make people stop and take notice. In late March the leaves start emerging and the flower buds are set ... check back in a while to see the blooms. Purchased the plant at a height of around 2'

May 9, 1999 ... the once stark 'limbs" are now covered with lush green foliage that softens the lines .. unfortunatly we were out of town for the bloom so will have to wait until next year for pics

April 19, 2000 ....... arggggggg .. we missed getting a picture of the blooms again !! The plant is now about 4' high.

6/15/00 ..... Damn .. this plant is full of surprises !!!!!!!! It's fast becoming one of Art's favorites in the garden. We were walking out the other day and glanced down to see the plant covered in these green "fruits" .. They are as hard as marbles and when pierced have a citrusy smell. Can't wait to see how they develop over the summer.
