This just goes to prove that it pays to be friendly with your in-laws ... Art & Betsy

David Stroud of Waxhaw, NC ( near Charlotte ) writes ...

I built this one with my son in law. He is a carpenter and knows how to do everything.

It has redwood racking from the Wine Enthusiast and then some pine racks that Sam's club had on sale last year for $39 each. I couldn't resist after the price of the ones from the WE.

It is passively cooled as three sides are underground and I haven't decided whether to put a cooling unit in or do like Greg E. and just use an air conditioner and a humidifier. So far I have been lucky. I bought a high-low thermometer from Radio Shack and stuck it in there to measure the Temp and Humidity and humidity has been between 55-68% and between 63-66 degrees every day since I have put it in. Seems to work well.

The only thing left to do is to hange a couple of pix and hang up the wine glass racks and I really haven't decided if I want them inside or outside over the bar.

Decisions, Decisions, decisions.

Dave
