This section is meant to be ... shall we say ... relaxing

To offset the "formality" of all of the wonderful labels that we have from countries around the world ..We thought that we'd set up a special section for labels that offer a bit of uniqueness .. breaking the "formal" mold of what we think of as a wine label. We hope you enjoy them.

We are also providing space here for those people who make their own wine labels.

You can help us by Emailing any homemade and/or "unusual" labels that you might find

We hope you enjoy these

Grodon B. of Australia writes ... I was prowling through France once and came across something that might interest you for you weird wine labels......I was in Boulonge (I think) and found this bottle (along with many bottles of the Fat Bastard Shiraz!). As you can see from the label, it is a genuine "Produit de France".

One has GOT to wonder at the production methods! -- Frog's Piss ( front ... back )--- Enjoy!!!
Robert H. of Australia writes ... I thought you might like this unusual wine label from Margaret River in Western Australia. The details are on the second label .. Suckfizzle ( front ... back )
Marian B writes ... look at the Margaux label and you'll see there's no vintage, written "non millésimé", very rare
Marybeth sent in this really unusual Bully Hill label
Ina F. sent in one that had us rolling around laughing ... the Hogshead
Tim W. ( who sent in the Fat Bastard ) .. has found two more great labels. We've tried to save these large enough so that you can read the text from the back label ... so take a gander at ... Big Frank ... and then at No Bull
1950 Mount Bethel - Big Daddy Port ... there was a whole series of these labels issued in the 50's and now the Mt. Bethel Winery in Arkansas re-issued these labels ... if you have access to any others please let us know
Fat Bastard Chardonnay ... hmmm wonder how the "experts" would rate this one ?
Rick of the Italian winery Cantine Lombardi sent us "Il Bianco della Dama" ... a nice label promoting a relaxing evening
Randolph H. sent in this Napa Valley label .. it really seems to fit us
Nicolás D. writes ... I enclose you a wine label from Tenerife- Canary Islands-Spain. I made it with corel draw and was an excellent red wine.
Jim G writes .. I come across your website and i thought you might be intrested in seeing the wine labels I made for my mother and step father they just started making wine and asked me to make them an origional label. They are also gun nuts (no there not hillbillys hehe) So needless to say they loved the labels

Tony D. Writes ... Hi Art & Betsy - Attached is the front and back of my homemade wine labels. I make homemade wine strictly for fun and these labels typically go out on bottles that I give to friends. I made these labels using only MS Word and clipart pictures. There are an infinite number of possibilities using this combination and as a result my labels change frequently, but the attached labels are pretty typical for what I give out and I thought you might enjoy them. I love your website, its very interesting. Thanks for taking the time to look at them and I hope they make it to your website page showing different labels!. PS - Antonio is our new baby boy ..

Front side .... Back Side

Chris S. Writes ... Here's mine. A friend took the photo while living in Chicago, and my wife created the label with PhotoShop. I change the detail for different wines and print them on a color printer.
Lyle K writes .... Hi Art & Betsy: Attached are pictures of my wine label from some Chianti wine I produced last year. Also attached is my winery's insignia, New York Valley Winery, that I use on shirts, etc. It is all for fun. I am a home winemaker, so I do not sell or market the wine. It's just a fun hobby. Thought you might like to see the label and insignia.
John B writes ... I own a video production company and produce a TV show called "The Ghoul Show". It airs in Cleveland Ohio, with plans for this fall in Detroit Michigan. The "Ghoul" is a Horror Movie Host with skits that we do. The entire shoe is shot and produced at my studios. so...with that in mind... I made a Zin that I reserved for a few individuals.. and called it Zinfan-Ghoul. His likeness is on the label as well.
Bill M ... sent us these labels that show how you can use MSWord to make nice labels
Jack K ... sent in an example of his homemade labels and how to make them
Bob H writes ... This is a label for some blackberry wine made in Oakland California. The berries were picked in the Diamond Canyon area of the Oakland hills.
Chris Coleman allowed us to show his latest labels. Once you have viewed them, stop by his personal website to learn about the wines that he makes
David H writes .. Attached is a label I made last October for my first attempt at plum wine. It's hardly as elegant as most of the labels you already display, but I hope you find it unusual enough to consider. The image is actually a digital photo of a sweatshirt made by Gryphon Stringed Instruments of Palo Alto, California (a guitar shop). The gray background reminded me of parchment, and I like fantasy themes.
When Jo H. bottled up his first three, 15 liter bottles of his new wine, he found that it had 17% alcohol ... this is the label that he created for this homebrewed wine
Jeff Chorniak - owner of the smallest (??) vineyard on the net has created a great label for his Africus Rex wine. You can see his mini-vineyard at his neat site
