One of the great gifts of beauty that we have here in Raleigh is the J.C. Raulston Arboretum.

Per their web site .. it has ...

"Eight acres of planting. Over 9,000 taxa (400 woody genera plus others) collected and 5,000 established. Distributed approximately 60,000 plants for testing - nurserymen collected an estimated 3 million cuttings."

The pictures here ( it takes a while for them all to load ) are some that shot during a recent visit on 6/20/98.

You as you enter, you come upon the newly decicated White Garden .. a wonderful start to your visit.

From there you have several directions you can turn .. our favorite is the path with over 400' long perennial beds and then the annuals testing area on the other.
